What is the National Honor Society?
This chapter of the National Honor society has been in existence for over 50 years now at North Bergen High School. `While the faces of our members may change from year to year, the values that we have cultivated as an organization are steadfast. With every step we take we strive to uphold the 4 pillars that this, and every National Honor Society, are built upon: Character, Service, Scholarship and Leadership.

Who are the nhs members?
The current members of North Bergen High School's National Honor Society are a mixture of seniors and juniors who aspire to achieve self-growth and gain experience from many opportunities offered as an NHS member. While members participate more in their senior year than junior, they are actually accepted towards the tail end of their junior year. Juniors who were not initially accepted may have another opportunity to join and apply in their senior year, too. Members of the National Honor Society are always expected to uphold the four main pillars to develop their own skills for their future.
To see the requirements to apply and join NBHS's National Honor Society, please see the Requirements page.

What are the benefits to being part of nhs?
Ask any current or past member and what you will truly find is that although being in NHS has helped them in many ways, they are more concerned with what they can do to help others. We are, first and foremost, a service organization. The National Honor Society has helped its members create and nurture the foundations for their roles as future leaders. It instills in every one of its members a sense of pride for their community, for their school and for all that they have and will accomplish.
